Ephesians 6:12. We aren’t fighting against human enemies but against rulers, authorities, forces of cosmic darkness, and spiritual powers of evil in the heavens.
The Spirit of God helps me a lot. Every time that someone makes me so mad that I feel like rage is filling up on the inside, I hear the Spirit whispering to me that this person who made me so mad is not my enemy.
The devil is able to use anyone who is available at any time. ANYONE.
Remember in Matthew 16:17 Jesus congratulated Peter for receiving the revelation of God after he’d declared that Jesus was the Christ — and few lines down on verse 23 Jesus turns around and addressing Peter he said “get the behind me Satan”. The words that had come out of the mouth of Peter recognizing the Christ, those were the words from God. However, refusing that Jesus go to the cross were words from the devil. Anyone can be used of the devil if available.
That is why we have to keep our focus correctly and avoid hating people. Avoid it at all cost, no matter what they are doing to you or what they have done to you. When anger and grudges are stored in your heart, they hamper the flow of God’s work inside of you. The Spirit of God is not able to operate when we harbor grudges, vengeance and hatred. Forgiveness sets you above the normal. Forgiveness is divinity at work in you!
Your enemy is not someone. Your enemy is the devil.
Lord, we need you. We need you to help us keep strong when we are hurt. When someone in particular touches our sensibility and hurts us in our core, Lord help us endure the pain and direct our anger towards the accuser, the Devil. I pray that by the blood of Jesus we may have victory over the impulses of anger that tempts us to sin against you by hating our neighbors. Let no hate enter our heart, preserve us from evil, In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen
