Grace Overabounds

Romans 5:20 And the law came in besides, that the trespass might abound; but where sin abounded, grace did abound more exceedingly.

Today, this is the verse that the Holy Spirit has been stressing in my heart Romans 5:20.  I meditate this verse often, and I think it is a key verse in the Bible.

For sinners, it shows that God is not waiting to judge us, no – He is extending an arm of overwhelming compassion saying “I can help if you let me”.

For believers, it reminds us that God knows what we are made of, we are weak in our nature but despite our weaknesses His grace will keep us. There is an unlimited quantity of grace!

For preachers, the verse tells us not to lose faith in our work. We can continue to preach to everyone without distinction, because God’s grace can overshadow any level of sin.  With men it may not be possible to lead one to conversion but with God, all things are possible.

Alleluia!
